Genesee Abbey Retreats

Hospitality is a ministry of the Abbey of the Genesee, a Roman Catholic community of contemplative monks known commonly as "Trappists." We welcome people of all faiths to our retreat houses so that they may come away and rest with the Lord. We encourage you to put the world behind you and immerse yourself in the quiet beauty of the landscape and the prayerful rhythm of the community prayer in the Abbey Church. Please note that it's best to make reservations at least several weeks in advance as space is limited. Please call and leave a message at 585-299-5092 to make a reservation. You may want to add the phone number into your contacts so it doesn't get marked as spam when we return your call and also indicate when a good time would be to reach you.

Enter the 4 digit code and then press the "enter" button beneath the lock between the 1 and 0 (see image below). This will open the lock. For those leaving on Friday, checkout time is 9:00am and for those leaving on Sunday you are free to stay into Sunday afternoon. These check in and check out times give our staff sufficient time to prepare for our incoming retreatants. Please lock the door when departing at the end of the retreat.

The Abbey does not provide meals to retreatants, however there is a full kitchen with a refrigerator/freezer, stove, oven, microwave, drip coffeemaker and toaster. There are supermarkets in the town of Geneseo only about ten minutes drive away which also serve prepared meals for you to take back to the retreat house with you. We provide paper products such as napkins, paper towels, and coffee filters as well as cleaning supplies (dish washing liquid and cloths).
